Effective date: May 25, 2026. This Privacy Policy applies to the Aegis Android app provided by GreyNOC.

Who we are

Aegis is provided by GreyNOC, a Michigan-based cybersecurity and software company. In this policy, "GreyNOC," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the developer and operator of Aegis.

Section 02

Information Aegis may collect or process

The information connected to Aegis depends on the features you use, the permissions you grant, your device settings, and whether you contact GreyNOC for support.

  • App and device information, such as app version, Android version, device type, basic device identifiers, operating status, diagnostics, crash data, and performance data.
  • Security or app activity information needed to provide Aegis features, such as settings, scan status, protection status, feature activity, logs generated by the app, or other app operation details.
  • User-provided information, such as your name, email address, message content, screenshots, attachments, or support details if you contact GreyNOC.
  • Files or content you intentionally select, upload, scan, submit, or otherwise provide to an Aegis feature, if that feature is available in the app.
  • Purchase, subscription, or licensing status if Aegis offers paid features through Google Play or another authorized purchase flow.

Information Aegis is not designed to collect

Aegis is not designed to collect sensitive information unless it is necessary for a feature you choose to use, required by the Android permission you grant, provided by you for support, or required for security, legal, or operational reasons.

  • GreyNOC does not sell personal information collected through Aegis.
  • Aegis is not designed to collect precise location, contacts, SMS messages, call logs, camera input, microphone input, photos, videos, or payment card numbers unless a future feature clearly requires it and the app requests the related permission or disclosure.
  • If Aegis changes in a way that materially changes the data collected or shared, GreyNOC will update this Privacy Policy and related app store disclosures.

How we use information

GreyNOC may use information connected to Aegis for the following purposes:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve Aegis features.
  • Protect users, devices, app integrity, GreyNOC systems, and the security of the service.
  • Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, improve performance, and understand feature reliability.
  • Respond to support, privacy, security, billing, or account requests.
  • Verify purchases, subscriptions, licenses, or eligibility for app features.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce terms, prevent misuse, and investigate suspicious activity.

App permissions and user control

Aegis may request Android permissions when a feature needs access to device functionality or information. Permission prompts are controlled by Android and can usually be managed in your device settings.

If you deny or later disable a permission, some Aegis features may not work as intended. GreyNOC encourages users to grant only the permissions they are comfortable using.

Section 06

How information is shared

GreyNOC may share information only when needed for limited operational, security, legal, or user-requested purposes.

  • With service providers that help operate Aegis, process support requests, deliver app functionality, analyze crashes, host services, or manage payments and subscriptions.
  • With Google Play, Android, payment processors, or platform services involved in app distribution, purchase handling, diagnostics, security, or abuse prevention.
  • When required by law, legal process, security investigation, enforcement action, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, GreyNOC, or others.
  • With your direction or consent, such as when you send information to GreyNOC for support or request that we communicate with a third party.
Section 07

Third-party services

Aegis may rely on third-party services such as Google Play services, Android platform services, crash reporting, analytics, cloud hosting, support tooling, payment processing, or security tooling. Those services may process information under their own privacy policies and terms.

GreyNOC chooses service providers to support app functionality, reliability, security, and support. We do not authorize service providers to sell Aegis personal information.

Section 08

Local data, storage, and retention

Some Aegis data may stay on your device unless you choose to submit it, sync it, back it up, or use a feature that requires cloud processing. You can usually remove local app data through Android settings or by uninstalling the app.

GreyNOC keeps information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including app operation, support, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and legitimate business records.

Section 09

Security

GreyNOC uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information connected to Aegis. No app, network, device, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Section 10

Your privacy choices and deletion requests

You may contact GreyNOC to ask questions, request access to information you provided, request correction, or request deletion of information GreyNOC controls.

Send requests to CustomerService@GreyNOC.com with the subject "Aegis Privacy Request." We may need to verify your request before taking action. Some information may be retained when required by law, security needs, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or legitimate business records.

Section 11

Children's privacy

Aegis is not directed to children under 13. GreyNOC does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through Aegis. If you believe a child has provided personal information to GreyNOC through Aegis, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

Section 12

International use

GreyNOC is based in the United States. If you use Aegis from outside the United States, information connected to the app may be processed in the United States or other locations where GreyNOC or its service providers operate.

Section 13

Changes to this policy

GreyNOC may update this Privacy Policy when Aegis changes, when legal or platform requirements change, or when our privacy practices need to be clarified. The updated policy will show a new effective date. Continued use of Aegis after an update means the updated policy applies.
